Light of the Gospel
 

Matt.4

  1. [16] The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.

Matt.5

  1. [14] Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
  2. [15] Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
  3. [16] Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Matt.6

  1. [22] The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
  2. [23] But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

Matt.10

  1. [27] What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.

Matt.17

  1. [2] And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.

  1. [79] To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.

  1. [16] No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.

  1. [33] No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light.
  2. [34] The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.
  3. [35] Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness.
  4. [36] If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light.

Luke.12

  1. [3] Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.
  2. [35] Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;

Luke.16

  1. [8] And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.

John.1

  1. [4] In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
  2. [5] And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
  3. [7] The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
  4. [8] He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
  5. [9] That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

John.3

  1. [19] And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
  2. [20] For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
  3. [21] But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

John.5

  1. [35] He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.

John.8

  1. [12] Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

John.9

  1. [5] As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

  1. [9] Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.
  2. [10] But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him.

  3. [46] I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

  1. [3] And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:

  1. [47] For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.

Acts.22

  1. [6] And it came to pass, that, as I made my journey, and was come nigh unto Damascus about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me.
  2. [9] And they that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me.
  3. [11] And when I could not see for the glory of that light, being led by the hand of them that were with me, I came into Damascus.

Acts.26

  1. [13] At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me.
  2. [18] To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
  3. [23] That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.

Rom.2

  1. [19] And art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness,

Rom.13

  1. [12] The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

1Cor.4

  1. [5] Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

  1. [4] In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

  1. [14] Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

  1. [14] And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

Eph.5

  1. [8] For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

1John.1

  1. [5] This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
  2. [7] But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

  1. [8] Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.
  2. [9] He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.
  3. [10] He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.

Rev.7

  1. [16] They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.

Rev.21

  1. [11] Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;
  2. [23] And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
  3. [24] And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.

Rev.22

[5] And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever
