Two Dead Jewish Leaders – Two Predictions
John 11:47-53 – Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles. If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation. And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all, Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not. And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation; And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad. Then from that day forth they took counsel together for to put him to death.
Caiaphas, the high priest, of course had quite a different thing in mind, viewing the whole nation as perishing if it lost favor with Rome. His prediction was fulfilled, but in a completely different manner from which he expected. They did lose favor with Rome, and were carried captive out of their homeland some forty years after his prediction, but Christ did provide the way for a spiritual remnant to remain as his nation, such that the nation did not perish.
Israel’s first Prime Minister, David Ben-Gurion, made the following prediction in 1954: “In the Negev will be tested the people of Israel and its state.” I believe he also, not knowing the way it will actually be fulfilled, predicted what is soon going to happen to one-third of Israel’s population and state.
Zechariah 13:8 – And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.
Revelation 12:6 – And THE WOMAN fled INTO the WILDERNESS, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
Israel is going to be tested in am manner it has not been exposed to since the holocaust brought on it by the Nazi regime – More than three million will be slaughtered by the Islamic Jihad from the north. Less than two million will make it to safety in the Negev, where their resolve to survive will be tested for the last three and one-half years of this age, which will end at the battle of Armageddon. God will test them with fire in the Negev, but will being them through it, and they will once again be his chosen ones. The end of the Battle of Armageddon will occur at the Second Advent of Israel’s Messiah, and it will know a thousand years of peace, after some 2000 years of great persecution. God will cause Israel to finally rest.
Zechariah 13:9 – And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God.
Jeremiah 30:22 to 31:2 – And ye shall be my people, and I will be your God. Behold, the whirlwind of the Lord goeth forth with fury, a continuing whirlwind: it shall fall with pain upon the head of the wicked. The fierce anger of the Lord shall not return, until he have done it, and until he have performed the intents of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it. At the same time, saith the Lord, will I be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people. Thus saith the Lord, The PEOPLE which were LEFT OF THE SWORD found GRACE in the WILDERNESS; even ISRAEL, when I went to CAUSE him TO REST.
I am certain that in the future Israel will be attacked and driven into the Negev. But when will the attack occur? I cannot say for sure. But I have expressed repeatedly my OPINION that it would occur at some point in time prior to 2008, and that is as specific as I have ever been on this Web Site, or plan to be up to 2008. If 2008 rolls in, and the attack has failed to materialize, I will simply eat crow, but continue to believe it must come.
